If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that nothing feels quite as good as a full night's sleep. When you sleep well, it sets the tone for the rest of your day. You wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go. It's almost like the world knows when you sleep well: your morning coffee hits just right, the sun shines just a little brighter, and you've got a little extra pep in your step.
Your friends and colleagues may notice, too, especially if good sleep is becoming a foreign concept for you. If it is, you're not alone - according to the CDC, people around the U.S. are in need of some serious zzzz's - more than 1 in 3 Americans aren't getting enough sleep. Perhaps even more shocking is that 40% of people fall asleep during the day once a month, according to the National Institutes of Health. Experts agree that most folks should get at least seven hours of sleep a night, but in reality, most Americans struggle to get five or six.
While some ultra-rich CEOs claim they only need a few hours of sleep a night, that's not true for most people. In fact, your body and brain will hate you if you're not getting enough shuteye. If you're feeling sluggish, unmotivated, snappy, achy, sick, or just down in the dumps, you may not be getting enough sleep. And it may not be your fault - that old, dilapidated innerspring mattress that you're sleeping on may be the true culprit.
Fortunately, Sleep King is here to help you get on the fast track to falling asleep with the ultimate comfort of MLILY mattresses in Raleigh, NC.
Change can be challenging, but if you had the opportunity to boost your immune system, improve heart health, and increase productivity levels by ditching your old mattress, would you take it? Take a moment and think about all the different things that have happened in your life over the last decade. Maybe you graduated college or got the job of your dreams. Perhaps you got married or moved to a new home in a new state. But if you're like the average person, one thing remained the same: your mattress. It might be surprising to hear, but the average lifespan of a mattress is between seven and ten years.
Letting go of your old, worn-out mattress might be hard, especially if it's served you well over time. As with most products, however, nothing lasts forever. But how do you know when it's time to ditch your old bed and choose a new MLILY mattress in , NC? Here are just a few of the most common reasons that customers tell us when it comes to buying a new bed.
Is your mattress starting to smell less like roses and more like the dirty socks in your hamper? When your mattress gets smelly, it's most often a result of mold, fungi, and mildew buildup over time. There's not too much you can do to avoid this from happening, especially if you live in a humid climate. So, the next time you change your sheets, give your mattress a sniff. If it smells funky, it's time to upgrade.
If your mattress has a noticeable sag, it's a surefire sign that you need to get a new mattress. Mattresses sag because, over time, coils begin to weaken, and memory foam loses elasticity. If you lay down on your bed for a moment, get up, and your bed sags instead of returning to its original appearance, your mattress is nearing the end of its life.
Waking up in pain is basically the an thesis of what a mattress is supposed to do. Due to wear and tear over time, even the best mattresses lose their ability to support your body. If you've been waking up with dull aches and pains in your hips, lower back, or shoulders, it's a red flag. Finding a comfortable, supportive mattress like an MLILY Fusion Lux is of utmost importance.
Constantly moving side-to-side or switching positions in the middle of the night is a great way to get your partner angry. It's also a big sign that you need to consider buying a new mattress. Like the supportiveness of our mattresses, general comfortability also lessens with usage and time. Here's the truth: You shouldn't need to toss and turn to get comfortable in your bed. If you are, your mattress has probably declined in quality and needs replacing. You shouldn't ever have to put your sleep health on the line for an uncomfortable mattress.
It might sound obvious, but the #1 reason why people choose to buy a new mattress is to get better sleep. Sleep, in and of itself, is a bit of a mystery - somehow, our bodies just know when it's time to clock out for the day and go to sleep. But if you've been sleeping on a poor quality or dilapidated mattress for long enough, you might have become used to the feeling of lackluster sleep. If that sounds like you, we're here to tell you that you're missing out.
Getting a great night's rest is one of life's little pleasures, but according to experts, it's also much more than that. If you swear by limiting your sleep to be more "productive," you may be doing yourself a disservice.
When you don't get enough sleep on a regular basis, it can lead to serious heart issues like high blood pressure and even heart attacks. Why? Because poor sleep causes your body to release cortisol. This stress hormone causes your heart to work harder. That's great in some situations, but long stretches of poor sleep are quite bad for your heart. Like other parts of your body, your heart needs to rest in order to function correctly.
Getting a cold is never fun. But if it feels like someone slapped your head with an anvil when you get the sniffles, you may need better sleep. When you get great sleep, the proteins and immune cells in your body have a better chance of fighting off things like the common cold and flu. Your immune system also helps mitigate symptoms like runny noses, congestion, headaches, and more. Without the right sleep, symptoms from colds and cases of flu will be much worse.
Do you roll out of bed and feel like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh? You're probably not getting great sleep. When you sleep well, you wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to attack the day. Your energy levels are high, making life's little annoyances more manageable. And when you're not annoyed, you're typically not angry. When you're not angry, you're only a half-step away from being happy. So, put on our PJs and get to bed early on an MLILY mattress in , NC. Your friends and family will thank you!
Earlier, we mentioned how some people purposely lose sleep so that they can be more productive. On the surface, that makes some sense since you have more hours in the day to dedicate to work. However, burning the midnight oil again and again is a bad idea. Eventually, you'll start making mistakes that an afternoon pot of coffee won't fix. Instead of cutting your sleep short, try getting more. Studies show that great sleep is linked to higher cognitive function and improved concentration. If you're not purposely limiting your sleep, it's time to ditch that old mattress and swing by Sleep King.
Getting eight or more hours of sleep doesn't mean you're going to lose lbs. overnight. But getting better sleep can seriously help with your diet or weight loss goals. When you get poor sleep, your body creates a hormone called ghrelin that causes you to get hungry. It also lowers the amounts of leptin in your body, which is a hormone that lets you know you're full. With great sleep, these hormones remain balanced, so you don't wake up finding for a sugary bowl of Captain Crunch.
If you're sick of mediocre sleep and want to take on tomorrow with a fresh mind, better sleep begins with MLILY mattresses in Raleigh NC. When you trust our mattress store in Raleigh for MLILY mattresses, you're already taking the first steps towards better sleeping habits.

RALEIGH, NC -- It's so close you can taste it. After 20 weeks of college basketball, we have finally reached Selection Sunday. For the first time since the 2018 season, NC State has a viable opportunity to hear its name called for an automatic bid into the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
After entering the ACC tournament as the No.6 seed in Greensboro, Kevin Keatts' Wolfpack squad won the game that many thought it had to against Virginia Tech. That came behind a great shooting effort and performance from Terquavion Smith, who poured in 30 points on 85% shooting from the field along with Jarkel Joiner's double-double propelling the Pack to a rout over the Hokies.
The next night was anything but the same as NC State struggled to defend Clemson's big men for the third time this season as the lid was covered for the Pack in the second half, shooting a measly 25 percent from the field. It was clear who the fresher team was in Greensboro as Clemson beat the Pack by a final score of 80-54 to wrap up the first half of the postseason.
Looking at the season overall, it was a vast improvement from last year's 11-win season, as the transfers Keatts and his staff have brought in has been a game changer for this season. NC State is now gaining positive momentum following a 23-win season on the court and in the recruiting side of things as well.
Looking at NC State's tournament resume, the aspect that the selection committee can hold against Wolfpack's resume is the lack of "quality wins" along with the conference woes late in the season. Wins over Miami and the ACC tournament champions Duke headline the "quality" wins for the Pack this season as three losses over Clemson and a defeat against Syracuse headline the lackluster defeats on the resume for the Pack.
For the last time this season, where does the Pack rank in bracketology projections on Selection Sunday?
Source | Seed | Date |
Bart Torvik | No. 11 | Mar. 12 |
ESPN (Lunardi) | No. 11 (Last four in) | Mar. 12 |
CBS Sports (Palm) | No. 10 | Mar. 12 |
Washington Post | No. 11 | Mar. 12 |
The Athletic | No. 11 (Last four in) | Mar. 12 |
Fox Sports | No. 12 (Last four in) | Mar. 12 |
Average (Bracket Matrix) | No.10.89 | Mar. 12 |
For the fourth consecutive week, the average Bracket Matrix rose again as now 94/110 total bracketology projections have NC State in the field. The Wolfpack heavily benefited from a lack of action from bid-stealers in their own respective conference tournaments as Selection Sunday 2023 doesn't have as much drama heading into it as tournaments in year's past.
The one positive that comes from these rankings is the fact that NC State would avoid not playing any 1-seeded teams until the later rounds strictly due to fact of falling below the 8/9 seed threshold.
Currently, NC State sits at No. 45 in the NET rankings, No. 49 in Bart Torvik's rankings, and No. 55 in the KenPom rankings. These rankings when looking at resumes of teams on the cut line in year's past should be enough to make the field of 68. If NC State were not to make it, finishing the year just 1-6 against Quad 1 opponents along with a 7-4 record against Quad 2 would be the likely case.
Heading into Selection Sunday, the thing to look at for the Pack is if NC State will have a bye for the tournament. Adding an extra game in a format where every game is a win-or-go-home scenario isn't ideal, but deep runs have been made from that seed line, (look no further than the 2021 UCLA squad).
Looking at the season as a whole, it's been a great bounce back year for NC State given that the Pack entered the year with whispers of a coaching change following last season. Making the tournament at a school like NC State with its rich history in the sport is expected from fans and the student body.
That's exactly what they might get tonight after five long years.
Find out the Wolfpack's fate tonight at 6 p.m. exclusively on CBS.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State is officially in the field for the 2023 NCAA Tournament, earning a spot for the first time since the 2017-18 season. The Wolfpack (23-10, 12-8 ACC) earned a No. 11 seed in the South Region and will open play against No. 6 Creighton at 4 p.m. ET on Friday and will be broadcast on TNT.
NC State finished at No. 45 in the NET rankings, which was No. 4 overall in the ACC behind only Duke (16), Virginia (26) and Miami (35), each of which made the NCAA Tournament field.
Just a few weeks ago, the Wolfpack's resume looked considerably better with Quad 1 wins over Miami, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, but all three have dropped in the rankings. That left State with just one Quad 1 win, but holding onto an 8-10 record overall between Quad 1 and Quad 2 games. But with no "bad losses" -- of the Quad 3/4 variety -- State put itself in good position to make the field.
Coming off a 21-loss season in 2021-22, Kevin Keatts brought in an entirely new staff and hit multiple home runs in the transfer portal to turn things around. The Pack brought in key pieces like Jarkel Joiner and D.J. Burns that contributed the entire season while Jack Clark and Dusan Mahorcic made a huge impact while healthy.
Joiner joined Terquavion Smith on the All-ACC Second Team while Burns earned Honorable Mention for their efforts in getting the Pack back on track this season. Smith and Joiner both average more than 17 points per game along with a combined 8.9 assists while Burns and Casey Morsell average north of 11 points per game. Clark is just behind them with 9.3 ppg, but has averaged 11.3 points in the last three since returning from injury.
Now with all of its top scoring options back on the court and a berth into the NCAA Tournament secured, the Pack is in position to make a run. But consistency will be key for NC State as it looks to earn its first win since the 2014-15 season and the first of Kevin Keatts' career later this week.

It’s bubble-watch season for NC State basketball as March Madness arrives with the 2023 NCAA Tournament set to start Tuesday.
The Wolfpack has hopes of hearing its name called on Selection Sunday for the first time since 2018, Kevin Keatts’ first season in Raleigh. NC State posted a 23-10 record, including a 12-8 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Major bracketologists have the Wolfpack among the 68 teams in the field. NC State has the 50th overall resume in the country, according to T-Rank’s Teamcast, and is 45th in the NET ranking. It has a 1-6 record in Quadrant 1 games, with a 7-4 record in Quad 2 opportunities. The Wolfpack is 15-0 against Q3-Q4 opponents.
NIT FOR UNC?Will UNC basketball accept an NIT bid if the Tar Heels miss the NCAA Tournament?
Despite an 80-54 loss to Clemson at the ACC Tournament, Keatts expects the Wolfpack to be in the field.
“I'm not on the committee, but I will say, man, we've got a pretty doggone good resume,” Keatts said after the loss to the Tigers.
“Typically when you look at resumes and the past, one of the things you look at is what's your strength of schedule, and I think we've got a really good strength of schedule. Our non-conference strength of schedule won't hurt us.
“We don't have any bad losses. We've got some really good wins. And when you look at us and this league and we're 12-8 and won 23 games overall, I think we've put ourselves – if you compare our resume to a lot of teams, we put ourselves in a good situation. I do feel favorable for us, absolutely.”
Here are the latest NCAA Tournament projections as of Sunday morning.
As of Saturday, Lunardi has NC State among the last four teams in the field as a No. 11 seed with a possible trip to Dayton for the First Four games. The Wolfpack is projected to play No. 11 Arizona State with the winner facing No. 6 Saint Mary's.
As of Saturday morning, Palm has the Wolfpack as a 10 seed facing No. 7 Northwestern in Des Moines, Iowa. Palm projects Marquette to be the 2 seed in the East Region.
As of Friday evening, USA TODAY has NC State as a 10 seed facing Creighton in Birmingham as part of the Midwest Region. No. 2 Texas would be the possible second-round matchup.
The Bracket Matrix formula considers the preeminent bracketology projections from across the web and averages them out to create a composite 68-team field. In 16 of the 118 projections tracked by the site, NC State is out of the field. The Wolfpack is as high as a 9 seed and as low as a 12 seed. Most projections have State as a 10 or 11 seed.
