If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that nothing feels quite as good as a full night's sleep. When you sleep well, it sets the tone for the rest of your day. You wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go. It's almost like the world knows when you sleep well: your morning coffee hits just right, the sun shines just a little brighter, and you've got a little extra pep in your step.

Your friends and colleagues may notice, too, especially if good sleep is becoming a foreign concept for you. If it is, you're not alone - according to the CDC, people around the U.S. are in need of some serious zzzz's - more than 1 in 3 Americans aren't getting enough sleep. Perhaps even more shocking is that 40% of people fall asleep during the day once a month, according to the National Institutes of Health. Experts agree that most folks should get at least seven hours of sleep a night, but in reality, most Americans struggle to get five or six.

While some ultra-rich CEOs claim they only need a few hours of sleep a night, that's not true for most people. In fact, your body and brain will hate you if you're not getting enough shuteye. If you're feeling sluggish, unmotivated, snappy, achy, sick, or just down in the dumps, you may not be getting enough sleep. And it may not be your fault - that old, dilapidated innerspring mattress that you're sleeping on may be the true culprit.

Fortunately, Sleep King is here to help you get on the fast track to falling asleep with the ultimate comfort of MLILY mattresses in Greenville, SC.

5 Ways to Tell If You Need a New Mattress

Take a moment and think about all the different things that have happened in your life over the last decade. Maybe you graduated college or got the job of your dreams. Perhaps you got married or moved to a new home in a new state. But if you're like the average person, one thing remained the same: your mattress. It might be surprising to hear, but the average lifespan of a mattress is between seven and ten years.

Letting go of your old, worn-out mattress might be hard, especially if it's served you well over time. As with most products, however, nothing lasts forever. But how do you know when it's time to ditch your old bed and choose a new MLILY mattress in , SC? Here are just a few of the most common reasons that customers tell us when it comes to buying a new bed.

Pungent Odor

Pungent Odor

Is your mattress starting to smell less like roses and more like the dirty socks in your hamper? When your mattress gets smelly, it's most often a result of mold, fungi, and mildew buildup over time. There's not too much you can do to avoid this from happening, especially if you live in a humid climate. So, the next time you change your sheets, give your mattress a sniff. If it smells funky, it's time to upgrade.

Saggy Mattress

Saggy Mattress

If your mattress has a noticeable sag, it's a surefire sign that you need to get a new mattress. Mattresses sag because, over time, coils begin to weaken, and memory foam loses elasticity. If you lay down on your bed for a moment, get up, and your bed sags instead of returning to its original appearance, your mattress is nearing the end of its life.

Pain

Pain

Waking up in pain is basically the an thesis of what a mattress is supposed to do. Due to wear and tear over time, even the best mattresses lose their ability to support your body. If you've been waking up with dull aches and pains in your hips, lower back, or shoulders, it's a red flag. Finding a comfortable, supportive mattress like an MLILY Fusion Lux is of utmost importance.

Tossing and Turning

Tossing and Turning

Constantly moving side-to-side or switching positions in the middle of the night is a great way to get your partner angry. It's also a big sign that you need to consider buying a new mattress. Like the supportiveness of our mattresses, general comfortability also lessens with usage and time. Here's the truth: You shouldn't need to toss and turn to get comfortable in your bed. If you are, your mattress has probably declined in quality and needs replacing. You shouldn't ever have to put your sleep health on the line for an uncomfortable mattress.

What are the Benefits of a Good Night's Sleep?

It might sound obvious, but the #1 reason why people choose to buy a new mattress is to get better sleep. Sleep, in and of itself, is a bit of a mystery - somehow, our bodies just know when it's time to clock out for the day and go to sleep. But if you've been sleeping on a poor quality or dilapidated mattress for long enough, you might have become used to the feeling of lackluster sleep. If that sounds like you, we're here to tell you that you're missing out.

Getting a great night's rest is one of life's little pleasures, but according to experts, it's also much more than that. If you swear by limiting your sleep to be more "productive," you may be doing yourself a disservice.

Better Heart Health

When you don't get enough sleep on a regular basis, it can lead to serious heart issues like high blood pressure and even heart attacks. Why? Because poor sleep causes your body to release cortisol. This stress hormone causes your heart to work harder. That's great in some situations, but long stretches of poor sleep are quite bad for your heart. Like other parts of your body, your heart needs to rest in order to function correctly.

Boosted Immune System

Getting a cold is never fun. But if it feels like someone slapped your head with an anvil when you get the sniffles, you may need better sleep. When you get great sleep, the proteins and immune cells in your body have a better chance of fighting off things like the common cold and flu. Your immune system also helps mitigate symptoms like runny noses, congestion, headaches, and more. Without the right sleep, symptoms from colds and cases of flu will be much worse.

Improved Mood

Do you roll out of bed and feel like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh? You're probably not getting great sleep. When you sleep well, you wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to attack the day. Your energy levels are high, making life's little annoyances more manageable. And when you're not annoyed, you're typically not angry. When you're not angry, you're only a half-step away from being happy. So, put on our PJs and get to bed early on an MLILY mattress in , SC. Your friends and family will thank you!

Increased Productivity

Earlier, we mentioned how some people purposely lose sleep so that they can be more productive. On the surface, that makes some sense since you have more hours in the day to dedicate to work. However, burning the midnight oil again and again is a bad idea. Eventually, you'll start making mistakes that an afternoon pot of coffee won't fix. Instead of cutting your sleep short, try getting more. Studies show that great sleep is linked to higher cognitive function and improved concentration. If you're not purposely limiting your sleep, it's time to ditch that old mattress and swing by Sleep King.

Supercharge Your Weight-Loss Efforts

Getting eight or more hours of sleep doesn't mean you're going to lose lbs. overnight. But getting better sleep can seriously help with your diet or weight loss goals. When you get poor sleep, your body creates a hormone called ghrelin that causes you to get hungry. It also lowers the amounts of leptin in your body, which is a hormone that lets you know you're full. With great sleep, these hormones remain balanced, so you don't wake up finding for a sugary bowl of Captain Crunch.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Good news for foodies! More options will be available in the city of Greenville.

In January, city council gave final approval on an ordinance allowing food trailers to operate in city limits.

Applications in the city started being accepted on Feb. 1.

Nard’s Backyard BBQ was the first food trailer to be approved.

“I just want to be mobile. I don’t want to be in one location all the time,” said Owner Randall Knight.

For over three decades, Knight has been serving barbecue at competitions, private events, and now wherever his food trailer can get hauled.

“I think the actual day we got permitted with the sticker for the city of Greenville, I believe we actually booked two events that day,” he said.

The change in the ordinance allows food trailers to operate the same way food trucks have in the city.

“It’s a big step forward letting trailers in whereas before it was just trucks allowed,” said Knight.

Slightly different than a food truck, food trailers cost less, have more space and storage, and travel the road another way.

“A truck breaks down, it’s broken down and can’t get to another event. If we’re on the way to an event and we break down we have another tow vehicle that will come, and we can swap out vehicles and keep on towing,” explained Knight.

Even after all the miles and the meats that have been smoked, Knight still loves bringing his barbecue to the Upstate and beyond.

“I make all my sides. I cook and smoke all the meats myself. I have my own rubs and sauces that we have to make and process. It’s a lot of long hours, but it’s well worth it in the end,” he said.

To get an application approved, vendors must have a business license in the city, pay a 2% hospitality tax on all food and beverage sales, and the units must meet Fire Department and DHEC requirements.

GREENVILLE — A Greenville-based pet collar, leash and harness producer will return to the West End after a year hiatus.

In late 2021, Paw Paws USA moved from its four-year downtown location. It opened a warehouse space near Unity Park in March 2022. Now, the pet supply store is on track to return to downtown by early spring in its new home at 816 S. Main St.

When in college, Anne Nutter had to create a business plan to sell a product. She settled on a pet supply company.

“I just loved my dog, and I was inspired by things I could put on her,” Nutter said.

She took her class assignment and started Paw Paws USA in 2003. She spent a few years structuring her company and selling products at farmer’s markets until she fully launched her business in 2007 after moving to Greenville.

Paw Paws USA sources its materials domestically, a fact that got her business noticed by The White House in 2019, Nutter said. The federal government contracted with her company for about a year to make some private label products.

All the products are sewn by Nutter and her staff.

“We’ve got it down to a science with the right machinery,” she said.

They make items for wholesale and also sell to retail consumers in-store and online. Collars and leashes range in price from $26 to $32 depending on a dog’s size. Items can be customized.

In 2008, She leased a second-floor office for her wholesale and online operations in downtown Greenville at the corner of West McBee Avenue and South Main Street. About two years later, she opened a 240-square-foot retail space on the bottom portion of the building and stayed there until 2017.

The business then relocated to 651 S. Main St. close to Falls Park where she stayed until the end of 2021. Nutter then packed up and moved to 400 Birnie St. to have more operational space.

Nutter said the move was good for her to work on the website and strengthen her wholesale and vendor relationships. But the foot traffic was not the same as it was on Main Street.

“I realized how much we had missed Main Street,” Nutter said.

Paw Paws USA is moving into the former MHK Architecture and Planning office. The firm relocated to 1 Augusta St. between Smoke on the Water and Mellow Mushroom.

The 1,000-square-foot store is currently under renovation with an anticipated opening in mid-April. The entrance will be dedicated to retail with the back saved for the sewing and production room.

In addition to collars and accessories, she also plans to sell treats and dog food from other vendors. Customers may catch glimpses of her dog Wriggley, who will have a bed in the back of the store.

“Greenville, I can tell you, we’re nuts about our dogs and the dog community here,” Nutter said. “Honestly, I think that’s really what has been able to carry us for so long.”

Two other pet supply businesses have popped up in the downtown Greenville area recently. Dapper Dog opened in the former Southern Tide store on North Main Street. The second location of Bark International, a dog boutique that started in Anderson, will soon open in The Commons along the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Unity Park.

GREENVILLE, SC, UNITED STATES, March 6, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A wood fence looks great and provides privacy for homeowners and their loved ones. A chain link is excellent for commercial properties for durability and security. Then, aluminum, vinyl, and fencing materials suit different requirements and settings. Besides the materials, there is also a design element; some want specific colors, and many like custom fencing installation with intricate patterns and finishes. Choosing and installing fences around the properties can be a lot to take in for homeowners and businesses. That's where a specialized fencing installation service like Elite Fence Company comes in.

As installing a fence around the property can be a significant investment, considering the durability, maintenance, and style of fence materials is a good idea. Business owners can search online for different design and material options and locate a company for Commercial Fencing in Greenville SC. A professional service can help choose the most suitable material, design implementation, and install custom fencing that meets the purpose. For example, those looking for a long-lasting material can consider chain-link or aluminum fencing installation. It can withstand harsh weather conditions and resist damage from pests, rot, and decay. "Pleasure to work with. Very professional. Had some difficult areas for installing the wooden fence, but they made it work! Thank you!" - Daniel Lopez

Similarly, Greenville homeowners can explore different fence materials, from wood and vinyl to custom pool and privacy fencing. Although the wood fence is a beautiful addition to residential properties, it may require regular sealing, staining, or painting to keep them looking good. Those looking for a compatible fence with their homes' architectural styles can consider wood or vinyl fencing, as they can be customized to fit various designs and finishes. Wood and vinyl installations can also act as privacy fencing in Greenville SC properties. Finally, some homeowners want to install a durable fence to protect pets and children. Iron, chain-link, and aluminum fencing can be excellent choices. These materials are also easy to maintain, durable, cost-effective, and for security purposes.

Fencing is not limited to the backyard, front yard, or baseball fields; it can enhance security and safety around different outdoor areas, such as pools. For example, an adequately secured and protected pool area with chain-link or custom-design pool fence offers peace of mind to homeowners. In addition, these fences serve a dual purpose: keeping children and pets safe by preventing them from entering the water or climbing over the boundaries.

In sum, a fence around a residential or commercial property brings various security and aesthetic benefits. Homeowners and businesses can consult a specialized fence installer, such as Elite Fence Company, to explore multiple options, from affordable vinyl and composite to premium wood and aluminum fencing solutions, and choose a fence that fits their requirements and budgets.

With more than 1,000 brands and 23 years under its international portfolio, a Greenville-based branding agency has acquired a marketing group that will give its public relations division a boost.

The Brand Leader acquired Benson Marketing Group, a wine and spirits marketing agency that is now a division of The Brand Leader, a brand-first creative agency specializing in advertising, branding, and design — and now public relations. The Benson team, including Jeremy Benson, president of Benson Marketing Group, will continue to serve wine and spirits clients in the U.S., Canada, and abroad from its office in New York.

Kyle Duford, The Brand Leader president and executive creative director, said the acquisition started with looking for an extra revenue stream and manpower, but at the same time, Duford and The Brand Leader founder and CEO, Geoff Wasserman, were firm on making sure an acquisition wouldn’t lead to company redundancy and laying employees off.

They searched for agencies that had compatible services that they lacked and didn’t necessarily have expertise in. When they came across the Benson Marketing Group, it checked all their boxes, since they are a legacy marketing group that has been around for 27 years and in a core competency — public relations, said Duford.

“We give them the benefit of providing all their clients with a branding agency, and now all our existing clients have a PR arm,” he said. “It was a no-brainer at the end of the day, and they complement well what we already do. As a bonus, TBL adds a high-performing team, whose subject matter expertise runs deep, to our 37-person agency.”

The Brand Leader’s core verticals include consumer packaged goods, medtech and fintech, outdoor, and now, wine and spirits.

The combination of two teams is set to address the many challenges and opportunities in the wine and spirits’ sector.

“To win, brands need a ‘wow’ factor — hyper-creative, attention-grabbing ideas that leverage the whole gamut of media,” said Benson. “TBL brings that in spades for their clients, and now to ours where needed. It’s an exciting time. Our team now includes in-house videographers, photographers, art directors, developers, copywriters, and digital ad experts who hold certifications from Google, Meta, Shopify, Hubspot, Klaviyo, and more.”

Wasserman said The Brand Leader was founded and built on putting people first and focusing on exceeding client expectations.

“We found Benson Marketing to be cut from the same cloth as us, and we couldn’t be more thrilled than to bring two legacy teams together under one banner,” he added.

Benson Marketing Group’s name will continue for the time being, and all client-facing professionals are now part of the combined entity. Barney, Inc. provided counsel to Benson Marketing Group in the transaction, but terms were not disclosed.
